If you have had the good fortune to visit Paris, the memories undoubtedly bring a smile to your face.

Your stay will be so full of highlights, how will you pick a favourite? Will it be acting like Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette as you row around the Grand Canal of the Chateau de Versailles? Or watching the sun set behind the Eiffel Tower from the top of the Notre Dame Cathedral with a not-so-attractive gargoyle for company? Maybe it will be hearing the different theories, and then looking and deciding for yourself what really made the Mona Lisa smile. Or will it be immersing yourself in the Parisian lifestyle, as you stroll down the Champs Elysées, taking in the French language and sampling the exquisite culinary delights?

North of Paris is an area rich in history and culture. With sites of battles from throughout the ages, including the 100 years war and the two World Wars, it is an area all historians should visit and study in their lives. With thought provoking memorials and cemeteries dotted throughout the area, a range of museums, preserved battlefields and other memorabilia from the World Wars, the poignancy of the area can not fail to affect you.

Don’t worry if you can’t choose your number one highlight - it will be a great excuse to come back!
